About the event

These are big times, powerful times. Such times come with great gifts, offering us the chance to alchemise past hurts and disappointments, to take a quantum leap in how we see ourselves – how we show up in the world, and how we discover our purpose and belonging.

Much of our unease lies in our lack of  nuanced understanding of where we come from, where we are (a more profound sense of place), and the personal space we occupy. When we’re clearer about these qualities, we’re more able to harness the massive energy that great change brings.

There’s a reason why so many peoples across the planet honour their ancestors, the spirit of place, and the quality of the space they choose to occupy. What wisdoms await us here? How to invite more of life’s numinous qualities into our lives? How best to ensoul our homes, our workplaces, our cities?

You’re invited to an evening of insight and exploration, where we play with our sense of purpose – the purpose of place, of our ancestral story, of our unique space – which in turn feeds our collective wellspring.

Discover who your ancestors are, and what insights they bring. What deeper links exist between you and those who have walked here before you? What unseen patterns need to be laid to rest, and how in these high-tech times can we possibly do this?

Join in this transformational evening where we consider the unique gifts of our ancestors with Maggie Hamilton, who will take us deeper into our individual stories and those of place, to help us better understand our own inner architecture – your story, your psyche – and our understanding of the power of place.

About our guest speaker / Maggie Hamilton

As a social researcher, media commentator and keen observer of social trends, Maggie Hamilton gives frequent talks and lectures. Her books, published in over a dozen countries, include What Men Don't Talk About, the lives of real men and boys; What's Happening to Our Girls? and What's Happening to Our Boys?  About the current issues boys and girls face; When We Become Strangers, on loneliness; and What Happens to Our Kids When We Fail to Grow Up?. When she’s not working, Maggie likes to travel off the beaten track – to deserts and sacred mountains, to temples, cathedrals and standing-stones, where each time a new face of the sacred reveals itself. After years in book publishing, when she’s not writing or researching Maggie devotes her time to sacred journeying and sharing all she’s learned in talks and workshops.
